4x4 working and not working

I went playing yesterday and my 4x4 was working fine and then quit and then worked i finally had to manually lock the hubs in to get up the slick hill drove all the way home unlocked the hubs drove 5 mile and then it all lock in automatic like it should had no problem's with the heater all worked fine transfer case was also working like it should . I'am not sure what is going on with the hub can anyone help....:dunno

Check them for cracks, all the way to both ends.

Or just replace them they are cheap. Also, pull the hub off and make sure nothing is binding. Where they hard to lock when you engaged them manually? Make sure the seals on the hubs look good also.

if you have a hand vacuum pump hook up the hose right at the nipple on the nuckle and see if each side holds vacuum. if they do then your vacuum hub seals are all good. next on the right fender wall you will see a solenoid mounted there with 2 vacuums lines going to it. i believe the red one is supply from the vacuum pump and the black one is the one that goes down to your knuckles.. if you have a vacuum gauge or pump hook it up to where the black vacuum hose connects to the solenoid. turn your ign. key on and turn on 4x4 you should have about 15-18 in of mg if not most likely your integrated wheel end solenoid is bad, very common on those good luck..

ok i'll check everything again to make sure the passenger side was easy to lock in and the drivers side was pretty hard went out today and lock and unlock with the switch just like normal thank for all the reply's

Does anyone have part numbers for o rings for the locking hub and the best way to clean them. THANK"S

Thanks to everyone That responded to my needing help i found that the drivers hub was dirty inside so i cleaned it and greased it seams to be working fine thanks to all
