backing plate is the light gauge piece of metal behind the brakes. It supposed to protect the disc from any damage, could be bent and rubbing when turning.

Wheel bearings are turning all the time, usually you will hear it when normal driving also, a whine, growl, or any other weird noise coming from the front end. Definitely something to rule out though.

Well I'm getting my hub assembly replaced....not by choice. We'll see if that fixes the problem.

I bought the hub assembly at oriellys for $128. They had another one (not in stock) for $358. They said the only difference was the name brand. Is there "better" hub assemblys? Both came with a one year warranty and the description online of 'em was identical.

Warn makes the BEST hubs on the market. They have been making hubs since the beginning of WW II. The early Jeeps ran them.

LOL, I was out messing around. It started squeeking after it got wet so I figured I'd shoot a vid before it dried out and didn't do it.

I'm going to have them to check out the brakes while I get the hub assembly replaced. I'm pretty sure that it is the hub assembly because my uncle was following me and he said he could see the wheel leaning out. I originally thopught somthing was in my brake drum.

How often should the brakes be serviced? I dont pull that much.....

Yea, I'm wanting to get the Warn hubs. But I'm trying to save money right now. I didn't see a hub assembly made by Warn though. At Oriellys, they had Master Pro and National name brand hub assemblys. National was 3x's as expesnive and both had the same warranty and description. The guy at Oriellys said the only difference was the name brand and they were out of stock in the National anyways.

My uncle has a F350 V10, and he went through 3 hub assemblys on the driver side as well. What would cause that? Only thing I could figure is that they were after market hub assemblys.

I drove my truck MAYBE a mile to the tire shop. When they got it on the rack it looked like my passenger tire was leaning. I figured it was from the other tire leaning....hopefully both aint going out.

you are talking about 2 different hubs-

one is to disconnect the 4 wheel drive system

the other is the unit bearing, what we all refer to as the hub.
