4r100 trans on obs?

I have a 97 power stroke and want to know if I can use a 4R100 transmission on my truck?
is it better than the e40d?

Eh, just depends on the year of the E40D, it is bascially the SAME trans but with more sensors.

I have heard you CAN use a 4R100 on a OBS truck but not a E40D on a SD truck because of the sensors.

BUT, I haven't heard of anyone doing this.

Normally it is just better to get teh E40D rebuilt with better parts that BOTH trannys will have

#1 is that the PCM strategy in the 94-97 trucks wont talk to the 4R100 so you would need to start there.

Change the soleniod pack and modify the front pump. Or use the E4OD pump.

The 4R100 is an upgraded E4OD.

You can build the E4OD to take alot of abuse.
