First thing I think of is a vacuum leak which will prevent the hubs to engage. Does he only have vent air coming out the windshield defroster vents?

The hub seals may not be drawing in due to one or more is damaged in some way.

I'm throwing things out there based on personal experience.

Vacuums great, seems to be a problem with the transfercase itself..Maybe electrical/connections???

when they called it ESOF (electronic shift on the FLY) they
apparently for got to tell folks that didnt apply to 4lo ;)

if you think about how whats really goin' on it makes sense that
you DONT wanna accidently select LO range when your
travelin' down the road at 55mph.... :dizzy

I understand that, pretty easy to flip a switch accidentally especially when 4 wheelin, glad my 96 has a big ol lever to grab!!:sly His answer was "I was always taught to let go of the break to relieve any binding casued by braking..."

Yeah, that's interesting too, because I thought you actually HAD to be moving, under 5 mph to get it to go into low...

Well it works, so wonderful!

I like my stick on the floor...
