Has anyone else had the problem of the hydraulic jack, that came with the 2006 F350 super duty trucks, leaking hydraulic fluid out the top of the jack?

I have never used the jack and it sits in the jack cradle behind the rear seat. The other day I was clean my truck when I noticed fluid on the rear floor board. After I started cleaning it up I found it to be hydraulic fluid. After further searching I found a puddle of hydraulic fluid laying under the hydraulic jack. Naturally, I checked the screw caps to ensure everything was tight and it was. It seems the fluid is seeping out the top extension part of the jack.

As the jack has never been used I would assume the bushing, stalled by the jack manufacture should be good.

2006 F350 Super Duty 4 x 4 6.0L with High Pressure Oil Pump new kit installed.

I have never heard of this problem. I never wanted to take a chance with the factory jack though. I bought an 8 ton bottle jack that fits under the back seat nice.

I did the same as kingkevindavid, I got rid of the puny stock jack and got a nice bottle jack. That and a couple chunks of 2x4 fit nicely behind the seat.

My truck came with a hydraulic bottle jack, and so far no leaks.

My truck did not come with a hydraulic Jack. It has the old for ford twisty jack. But I did buy a air power hydraulic Jack for the house....LOL

those air hydraulic jacks are the best! we use those for the the big trucks. I believe it is a 20 ton model. I cant believe I used to crank up a tractor trailer with a regular bottle jack. But a good bottle jack and a couple 2X4's are a great investment for a SD.
