Didn't mean Cap the profits BP. I meant Cap the Price, say at $?.xx, across the board.
There's a fine line between making a Reasonable, or even Very Good Profit... and Gouging. When an industry is Plainly making Huge Mega profits, profit margins NEVER before achieved..... While it's Consumers suffer ? There's something very, very wrong with that economic structure.
I, as just one of the "Little People", don't buy off on all the Smoke & Mirror reasons.. Propagandized to us.
But I absoluly agree that we we need to drive less and use Mass Transit more. Was in L.A. recently.... Could Not Believe the number of vehicles with just One Head showing.
sorry but capping the price isnt anything different then LIMITING the
profit...less profit...less jobs...less investment R&D etc.
im in houston...i see it...theres a whole lotta folks employed here now
that there were in the 80s...the foreclosures that are in texas are
NOT from unemployment (like in the mid 80s)..its from STUPID greedy
home buyers...theyre some of the same folks that are complaining
about the cost to fuel up their SUV's (that they 100% financed w/out
money in the bank)...some of the same ones that EXPECT you and i
to bail 'em out...cap their credit interest rates at 32% and the free loading
list goes on.
some will say the O&G companies have a monopoly on their offerings...
maybe...but one think i can be certain of...gubermint involvment wont
cure that (remember ma' bell....my phone bill is higher than its ever been
w/ more taxes on it than anyone could EVER have imagined)
im all for goin to odd / even days of filling up...since some cant seem
to cut back on their driving (professionals excluded)
