ok. There is one but I wont worry about it. With the big slit going across it I couldnt figure why a gasket was necessary. It looks like cork type material.

I'll remove and clean out then reuse what I can.

Thanks for the input. I just might learn something!

Well I just went to the top of the post and you do have a 5speed so maybe the gasket is for somethin???? On the auto's its an inspection, debris, dust cover.

Yup it's just a junk/dust cover. The first time I took mine off the "gasket" was in about four pieces... so don't worry about that. :) I've had my cover off so many times...

When I have a leak it tends to drip off around there where you pointed out as well. I think it kinda collects inside the pan but mostly drains down the edge where it meets the bellhousing and drips off the back (where your arrow was).

I should clean all mine out again, especially the valley, since I think I fixed my oil leak. The stuff stays down there FOREVER!
