Driving back from up north to down here Saturday, noticed a puddle of green under the front as I stopped at a rest area. Coolant bypass filter line from the filter back to degasser sprung a pinhole leak; this got bigger over the next few hundred miles. So I stopped at a Blaine's Farm and Fleet in Janesville WI. The only 3/8 lines they had were fuel (box was empty) and something called "anti-smog line" whatever that is, which I used.

The old 3/8 line was fuel line according to the stamp and it was absolutely fried and brittle. Bought it in kit form, can't recall who but it was one of our old sponsors. According to what I've read, I'm lucky to have got so many miles out of that hose.

Anybody know what "anti-smog" hose is? I got a new section of silicone coolant hose from McMaster-Carr today, so I don't really care but am sure curious! True coolant hose, in 3/8 id, seems rare as hens' teeth.

Vacuum line maybe?

Here you go:

DAYCO® ANTI-SMOG/PCV HOSE

Designed for applications in cars and trucks where petroleum vapors and blow-by gases are recirculated through the intake manifold for total combustion and reduced emissions, and on gasoline engines for fuel line applications, the Dayco Anti-Smog/PCV Hose features a tube and cover compound that resists oil and helps reduce emissions to acceptable EPA levels. The single ply of cord reinforcement provides increased strength and flexibility. The Dayco Anti-Smog/ PCV Hose meets SAE J30R7 requirements and is available in either 50’ cartons or 20” clamshell packs for ease of merchandising. Note: NOT suitable for fuel injection applications.

It was a little thing, 4 cylinder. Rogue maybe?? Awful seats but fun to drive around for a change...electronic key ID that twice refused to start the rig. Otherwise it was "ok".... They called it an "upgrade"!

Cars can be fun for a change..... Actually my daily driver is an 07 P71 Crown Vic....... and it hasn't forgotten that it was a police car...... LOL

I did daily drive the Excursion for a long time, and miss driving it every day, but the P71 is a bit easier on the wallet... not fuel, as fuel economy is a push, but maintenance is cheaper......

Reason i was wondering on the Nissan, we just picked up one for Momma, an 07 Infiniti QX56, it's her daily driver and a huge upgrade from her old 2000 P71....... she loves it!!!!!
