I have the same plan. My family and I are laoding some ATV's in our horse trailer and heading across the country. We do not care how long it takes. That will by my treat when I get home. Be sure to share any lessons learned druing your trip.

Sounds great;

On the 14th of July we're guna start out. The plan is.. There is no [REAL]Plan. Albuquerque then North, go North'ish to Neb. (Friends) Mich. U.P then lower Mich. (in-laws), Then up-state N.Y. (daughter) on to Maine (colors), then South'ish thru D.C. (Smithsonian), The whole Smokies thing, W. Va (Friends), Fla (Disney World & Key West) then Ky. (friends) and then ........ :dunno

This will all be done with many side trips, staying in areas we find interesting for a week or two (maybe longer) if we wana.

Get'n the 2K & 5'r ready by do'n a COMPLETE & TOTAL.. oil, filters, Fluids, lubes'n grease, Tire balance, Alignment.. Starting tomorrow, Bumper to Bumper.

Whadya Think ??

Watch the winds in Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.. We saw trailers destroyed and 18 wheeler on it's side. Those windsocks along I-40 are not for decoration.

Oregon is at the top of my list of places to visit. Not only for the trails and dunes, but I may also want to move there. That is also what that trip will be for, finding a new place to live.

nah, just eat plenty of roadside diner beans and you will be good.

On the subject of "Gas".. A road trip from Hell was when we went to Norfolk Va. to get the 8.2 months pregnant with twins.. #1 Daughter and 2 G-kids to bring'm out here while the SIL's ship transferred from the Right coast to the Left coast.

91 IDI DOG with an 11' Lance pull'n a 2 axle U-haul. Daughter following in a questionable Grand-Prix. Started snowing in Richmond Va., Did'nt really stop snowing til about Kingman Az.

Snowed in in Gallup Nm. for 2 days.. (100 year storm they said). I-40 and the city.. Shut Down. Hunker'd down in a KOA. 5 soles on-board.

Daughter ate some of the KOA manager's Home Made for the Travelers ..on a Cold Snowy night..Spaghetti that didnt agree with her pregnant self..GAS, GAS, GAS.. From BOTH ends !! 3 AM.. Lower belly pain.. then I'm slam'n thru snow drifts to get her to a Hospital.. in the questionable G-prix.. in a strange to me town... on the Cell with a 911 operator give'n me directions like I'd lived there all my life !! (Brown house with a tree by the curb.. bare right at the "Y".. that kinda thing). Can't see 20 feet fer blowing snow.

Got her there. All was well after 3 hours observation.. Gave her some Gas-X I think. I Did hear the Doc turn on a Fan in the Emergency Room... GAS, GAS, GAS.. from Both Ends.

Ahhhh.. The fond memories of "Road Trips" gone bye ;):D:)

Twins were born 3 weeks later. Healthy Happy little buggers. But they Can be GASSY at times..:sly:innocent
