I also live in between Bakersfield CA (HOT) and Mojave CA (Real HOT) and have never had a cooling issue. Cheers!

But what you omitted is that where you live is at elevation and cool.

Has anyone experienced the 0.5 to 1 MPG increase DieselSite claims possible? Such an increase in economy seems a little far fetched to me.

Nah... On a Test stand maybe. These things just run better, a little warmer.

It's about 15F cooler up at elevation (4100 ft at my house), but still have to tow in and out of it to get anywhere! For a bit of clarification, I tow the fiver up Hwy 395 though Reno to Susanville CA area (Eagle Lake) in July every summer. There's some decent pulls in the Eastern Sierra. Also no problems going in and out of Death Valley from T-Town while towing (but definitely NOT in the heat of summer)! Cheers!
