Seasons' Greetings Everyone,

I have 27,000 miles on my 2011 1 ton duallie. The brakes squawk when I use them below walking speed. My dealer tells me they have chased this with other owners and had no success. I suspect dust builds up with stock Ford parts. Has anyone solved this?

Thanks!!

Welcome to SDD and Seasons Greetings to you too ;tu;tu

As far as your squeaky Brakes ? Maybe tweak the dust shrouds on the brake assemblies to get a little more air moving around'm, at speed ??.. to keep the dust from building up ?

Either that, or Brake Pads made of a different material compound ?

Check with your Local Brake Shop ? OR..there's a SDD site sponcor here called.. Frozen Rotors.. give them a call.. see what they say ?

How fast ya going? Mine kindah did that until I replaced the bearings (not related) and whipped off the rotors and pads with break cleaner. It stopped.

One of the men on a RV site that I go to, said that Ford replaced his brakes at
20.000 miles on his 2011 truck and it's doing fine now, something about the new
shoes and what they are made of.
Ford paid the bill for him.

Thanks for the input Folks!

The service rep said they chased it down with another customer even going as far as changing out the calipers themselves. He said they couldn't fix it with Ford parts and a few trucks squawk while most don't. I posted here to see if there was a 'known' fix that I could share with the dealer.

I'm going to try another dealer or two before taking the bull by the horns. If I get the same story I'll get some brake cleaner, some good aftermarket pads and some anti-squeal goop for the back of them. This is a warranty issue but for $60 or so I can make it go away and end the irritation.

Happy New Year's to all!!!!

Yes you can do that, but you know for the money we pay for these trucks we
shouldn't have to. The dadblame dealers should fix it on there dime, what
ever it takes to make you happy.
