ok, i am getting confused. are you telling me you have a little 'jump' seat between the 2 fronts???

the '08 is on the left and my '03 is on the right. i have a carbon fiber clip board cubby and 2 cup holder thing between my 2 front seats... must be the blonde in me that thought they all looked like this.

my 02 had a nice center consle but not as high as the newer ones
i also have a the middle seat noise maker thing in the 06

are you saying that not all 03 and newer have the fancy center storage bin like i have? HUH!! guess i am special.

if you have the 40/20/40 front seat you dont have
the "fancy" storage bucket.

w/ the 40/20/40 front seat you can fold the back
down (of the 20 section) and it becomes an armrest
and has a SMALL amount of storage

after reading THAT i get it now. i thought they were saying 402040 for the rear not the front.. i just took it for granted that everyone had buckets...duh.. i guess i forgot about the 'front park bench' option.....

yup...we actually WANTED the 402040 front...we can seat 6 if we
need to...or if one of our 3 teens is creating a problem they get to
sit up front between the PARENTS ends up looking like this up front -->

From what I have read and researched Robert, there about 11 part numbers that make up the new consoles in the 2008's, and you have to order each of them seperately from the dealer in order to "build" it (retail is over 1100.00)

OR, you can go on ebay and buy one.

That is really nice looking. Were did you find that console at. I am always looking for more storage space and something bigger to write on top of. Do you think it will fit with arm rests? I see in your post were you said that it sits up nice and high.

Thanks! I bought the console off of ebay from a company that customizes trucks for RV packages and different things. It should fit with no problems even with arm rests. If you look at the couple of pics I took looking from the top down you will notice the clearance you have on both sides of the console, which should allow you to fold down the armrests and use them with no problems.

Did you remove the armrests from your seats so it would fit?

No my truck came with the front bench with fold down console so no armrests.

Thanks! Like Bama said there are a multitude of part numbers for the console. Ford sells it piece by piece and it gets really expensive that way. It is much easier and cheaper to buy one off of ebay, especially because if you have tan interior like I have you are going to have to paint the sides anyway to get it to match. The tan color in the 08's does not match. I ended up paying $147.50 for the console and $45 shipping to get it here. Then I am taking the cheap way on paint I am using a Krylon tan paint that matches my interior really well that is made for plastics and vinyl and that cost me $4.59. So everything totaled I will have right around $200 in the whole mod.

that looks nice and dfeinatley sits up much taller than the stock center console! Looks nice, bummer it didn't match the interior!
