I just passed 6,000 miles on the odometer and took a trip to pick up the mil for Christmas.
376 miles. It took 12.572 gallons. I was in a hurry, so was driving 70 to 80 mph, got 29.9 mpg. Before when I drove at that speed we got about 26 mpg, so I guess the engine is breaking in. Average weekly mpg is 33 to 34 mpg.
Sooooo, if you are thinking about a comfortable fun to drive gas saving car, the focus is a good choice. My wife loves it.
It used to be that I could not get her out of her Explorer, but now it just sits while she drivers her Focus.

I had to reread your post. I was going to hoist the BS flag up the pole when I saw 29.9 mpg at 70 mph. I was thinking of your truck. My mistake, Maxtor.

In a Grand Marquis?!?!?! you gots to be kidding homie. I would never have dreamed that a boat anchor could get that kinda MPG.
We get 28-29 MPG at 70-75 MPH with a 2008 Crown Victoria LX,not bad for a 4.6L V8.

Attaining 30+ with any vehicle is great so the Focus has a ;tu from me:)

I guess I have never really took the time to think of those type cars (grand marquis, crown vic, town cars) to get that kinda MPG.

The engineering of the Ford 4.6L has come a long way in the last 10 years,I'm sure back in '95 the mileage wasn't as good in the same car.;)

I regularly get 30-31 mpg @ 70-72mph in my sshhhh......dodge intrepid with the 3.5l v-6.

cut me some slack, its my work car and gets the wheels driven off it to the tune of 25K+/yr. paid 1900 for it. ;)
