2006 oil recommendation

Hey Flopster, your close to me in geography, no problems in that hot Charleston wheather with 5w-40. We've had about 65 days over 90 degrees this year and about 8 over 100. I'm sure your hot weather is similar if not worse. I know the couple of times I've been to Charleston it had to be the most humid place I've ever been.

It's awful hot here all the time. I've had no issues running the synthetic oil.

Mine seems to run smoother with Mobil 1 in it. I've been running the rotella syn since about 10k. I've got 37k on it now, and about teh only issue I have is fuel showing up in the oil, but that's not the oil's fault.

Mobil 1 is a full synthetic, I believe Rotella's some kind of a high end blend, or partial base stock synthetic. Don't quote me on that. All I do know is the regular car Mobil 1 is the best stuff on the planet.

It is tough to find though... so far. I've been making a stink at Walmart asking why they only buy it 3 gal at a time.

Mine seems to run better on Mobil 1 also. The Rotella 5w-40 is a little easier on the wallet, though.

im usin Amsoil 5w-40 and dont think ill swich from it...use Amsoil in everythin !!!

When you say Mobil 1 are you talking about the kind walmart carries, light duty diesel or the Mobil Delvac 1, the kind I see at the truck stops. Is there any difference between the two?

Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-40 Diesel oil. If you can find it at walmart, good luck. It's a ***** to find in Pittsburgh...

DON'T use the Mobil 1 designed for gasoline engines. Additive package is all wrong for our application.
