i have seen and read info. on the fact that the 4" downtube does not flow any better than the 3.5". that the 3.5" does help w/ back pressure.

Turbo wrap

This is a picture of a turbo wrap from Red 60-no
As you can see, there will be no extra under hood heat from the turbo down pipe.

soooo, what i,m understanding is all i need to do is eliminate the kitty, and change my muffler, and should see an increase?? OR should i spring for a new system:dunno

As long as you do not install a power adder, I think the stock exhaust minus the cat and muffler, will maximize our stock systems. The main reason to install a 3.5 inch down pipe and 4 inch back system is if you are planning on installing a power adder. Chip, programmer, propane, etc. There are some mufflers out there that reduce noise, and do not increase back pressure. The stock muffler is very restrictive.
