2005 turbo ?

I overheard some fellas talking the other day about the turbo on their 2005 F350's. One was saying that he was going to take of the turbo disassemble it and cut the flanges out with a grinder to make it whistle louder. From the way they were talkin one of their buddy's did it and it was equal to or louder than putting a 2003 turbo on. Not sure what flanges they were talking about but has anyone heard of someone doing this?

Sounds like a good way to shorten the turbo life and have it destroy itself. Don't do it unless you are SURE what you are doing.

Removing the silencer ring will do nothing.
