Just got back from my trip to Northern Vermont and on the way up towing my 32' trailer going up a hill I heard a little pop then a woosh of air and my turbo psi went down to under ten and little to no power. I pulled it over and looked over the turbo area and did not see anything. I did have a problem once before where the blue hose popped off the turbo, But I fixed that with a new hose and clamps and some RTV. I looked all around the turbo and cannot find a leak but I can sure hear it when the truck is under load.
I made it the rest of the way with the trailer with an obvious power loss and on some of the bigger hills a little black smoke, but temperatures were good and oil pressure was good. I drove the truck back home to CT. without trailer and she did fine but the same thing on some of the hills with an obvious lack of turbo psi. Any input would be a big help, I am hoping I dont have to replace the turbo because I am sure that will be a big ticket. I plan on bringing it to my local ford dealer tomorrow or tuesday. Thanks
