2004 F350 low power/stalling

Working on my friends F350, he says it loses power and sometimes stalls. He was talking to a friend that is a ford tech and he says it's the fuel pump. Where do I check the fuel pressure on the 6.0? Stupid question here, but, how many pumps are there? I know the one on the frame with the filter, but is there another?

theres a port up by the engine mounted fuel filter....
whats the conditions of BOTH fuel filters ? has the
HMFC been drained lately ?

any smoking ? or surging ??

check for wiring harness issues (03 & early 04s) had
wire chafing/ground out issues that caused stalling...

I can't reproduce the problem...of course. I have new fuel filters to install. I am going to try that first.

start the truck and w/ a WOODEN STICK/DOWEL start poking at all the
wiring connections and looms under the hood.

look these photos over for some of the harness/connector issues

i assume the water in fuel light isnt on...givin that youre in a cold
climate you could have some wax build up...there were some early
problems w/ frame rail mounted HFCM..but most of those were
from wif lights that wouldnt go out AFTER they were drained.

the HFCM has a heater in it (brown plug on the unit)...if your
friend hasnt been keeping after it wax can build up beyond what
the heater can resolve.

must have been Ice. No problems since. I guess the ice thawed while in my garage. Thanks.

classic fuel gel or icing symptom...
i had an old audi 5000SD freeze while "IN FLIGHT"...
dump some anti-gel in that tank or you could
end up stranded <w/out engine heat> !
