2004 6.0 F250 down

I have a 2004 F250 with a 6.0 and a 126000 miles on it that is down. While driving I let off the pedal to make a turn and the oil pressure gauge dropped as soon as I touched the pedal it came back up. Pulled over and checked oil level and it was fine. Started truck back up and had pressure on gauge as long as RPM was at least 900-1000rpm. Pulled oil filter and found the plunger in the middle of the standpipe was broke. Replaced the standpipe the next day. Truck started but took a little longer than normal. Gauge showed pressure at all RPMs. Shut off truck and re-started fine. I let it run a little longer to warm up the oil and shut it down. Changed oil (5-40 Rotella) and filter(Motorcraft) and truck hasn't started since. Checked IPC pressure with a scanner and highest reading I got while cranking was about 24psi. Pulled filter again and oil was in resovoir and didn't drain back until filter came off of drain valve. Unplugged ICP sensor and still no start. Pulled oil regulator (no signs of damage/trash) replaced it anyway. No start. What should I check next? Thanks

Sorry to hear you're having problems. I have the same year. Only had mine since March. So many electronic doodads for me to keep straight. With my luck in repairing things the shop is the route for me, too unless it's fairly straight forward maintenance or bolt on type part.

You will need a good scanner to read the trouble codes. I have an Autoenginuity software/hardware package that loads onto a Windows Computer to read the DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). Thee are a lot of small hardware scanners you can look at. Just make sure they will read our trucks codes (CAN communications).

I had a similar issue...after a lot of going around with dealership (they wanted to pull the engine) they finally discovered a cracked o-ring on oil pickup. Injector pump requires good pressure. Good luck with it.

This sounds a lot like an issue that I had a few months back with my 2004 6.0 My problem was the high pressure oil pump under the intake.
