Hey all...I am the new owner of the above mentioned vehicle and I can't for the life of me find the fuel filter to replace it. My owners manual says to remove my engine appearance cover and thought it was the cover inside the van. I did and did not see what looked like anything resembling a fuel filter cartridge. I consider myself a pretty handy guy but am beginning to feel pretty stupid and have yet been able to figure this one out....any help is much appreciated..thanks and happy new year....

Pop the hood, the engine appearance cover is the black plastic flip up lid that says Powerstroke 7.3 DIT or something like that. You will find the fuel filter cannister under that cover.

On the trucks the cover looks like the one on the left side of this picture.

Not sure about the vans.

Actually on the SDs the appearance cover does not flip up. It says "Powerstroke" and it's friggin' bolted on!:cussing: It's bolted to the reservoir on the HPOP. I left mine off after one of the studs broke when I was removing it to shim the FPR way back when.

The lid of the fuel filter canister looks like this....
