I was driving to work today on the highway in my 2001 f250 7.3 with an auto, when all of a sudden my truck just stalled out, almost as if someone has turned off the key. I coasted it off the road and had it towed home. Now when i put the key in the "wait to start" light does not come on. If i turn the key, it will rotate the motor but not fire off. After looking through my fuses i found a blown 20 amp fuse in the 22 or 24 fuse slot which is under the hood (Its the PCM fuse). I replaced the fuse, but when i turned on the key the fuse would blow immediately. I am leaning towards thinking that the PCM is bad, but i would hate to spend the big bucks to plug a new one in just to fry it too should that be the case.
Any thoughts? taking the bus is just no fun! Assuming it is the PCM where is it located? THANKS!
