2001 doesn't spool up in the cold anymore

Last winter I got in from work at 4 in the morning and my truck had blown the stupid GFI breaker. It was 43 below zero and essentially my truck was no longer plugged in, being in the middle of nowhere I had to try it, too my suprise it started with a lot of clattering and banging. Ever since that night the truck no longer spools up on its own. Any suggestions would be appreciated

what exactly do you mean "spools" up on its own? high idle? more info would def help

ya sorry about that. The truck used to start and idle for about 5 seconds then it would increase it's rpm to about 1000. It also would do this if you stopped and it started to cool down, It would rev back up and hold it's tempature

ahhhh, gotcha..that one i'm not to sure of, kinda weird for that high idle to stop...sorry, was hopin i could help, i'm sure one of the guys will pop on and give you some good info, good luck with it!

Something must be keeping the EBPV from closing up.

Was this before or after you put the BD Cold Air Intake on ?

There's a temp sensor that WAS in the stock air (filter) box, that sensor (and others) detects Low temps and initiate the High Idle RPM, closesthe EBPV to speed up, warm up. When the oil temp, coolant temp sensors detect warm enough temp, the warm up cycle shuts down.

Thanks for the imput but the BD kit has been on it since I got the truck 3 years ago so I don't think the kit has anything to do with it. Is there a way to check the EBPV or do you have to take it off the truck to find anything (I can hope that it is plugged or something obvious). The truck does seem to have lost some power over the last year but it could just be me
