Hey All,
I'm new to this community. This looks like the best Diesel web page around so far.
I have a 2000 F350, LB, 4x4 Crew that seems to almost stall, lose power and knock only in reverse. It's much more noticeable when I'm pushing a trailer or something. It has a 4 inch exhaust, Severe Duty Air Filtration and an Edge programmer set for 40 extra hp. I'm thinking it's the Edge but just asking before I start making assumptions. It runs like a top otherwise.

Thanks in advance,

Cary

My truck has had the same problem at times even when it was stock? I think there was a TSB (recall) for it but I never took it in while under warranty. Mine only does it when the engine is not to temperature.

i have the same problem, i talked to the guys at ATS about it and were the most helpful out of everybody, my problem did not start till i did my torque converter swap, we had to split the pump to do the tcc mod, well the it seems that the 4R100 pump is a mad little bitch when they get hot, they say when you take em apart its worse cause wherever it was warped, it'll just be angrier when you put it back together, guess sometimes it happens when never touched too like with yours??....they told me whenever they do a tranny they have the pumps trued up so theres no chance of warpage. The stumbling and loss of power is from the pump losing pressure in reverse and seeping. Thats what they think my problem is anyways, sounds like the same thing you are experiencing, mine never did it till after the converter swap. Much worse with a trailer on it, and when hot. I'm gonna put a new pump in mine come fall, just too lazy to do it right now, lol.

Reverse Problem

Thanks Guys,
I think I'll try a few things this week to include disabling the the Edge Program since that's the easiest. If the Edge causes the problem then I guess I'll give them a call. Probably not much they can do about it. Next I'll try getting a feel for the torque converter to see if it's acting up.

Thanks for the input!

I have a very similar problem. Do you feel that your problem is engine realted or tranny. My truck feels like its a manual and wants to take off. If you brake hard you'll stall it. I changed the tranny fluid and the problem goes away. Comes back about 50k later as the fluid gets dirty. As earlier said, I think something is up with these trannies.
