Does anyone have a drawing of how the ignition switch is put in and the working that are in-behind it? I have a problem starting my truck when it is COLD (below 32 F). I can take a hair dryer and use it on the ignition switch for about a minute or 2 on high and the truck will start fine  . Any and all help is appreciated. THANKS

No drawings on the switch, but I can tell you that the lock is put in with the truck in the RUN position of the ignition. The cylinder is put in and turned to set the pin that holds it in place. You can remove the lock by turning the truck to RUN (no start) and inserting a small pin or nail in the hole below the lock. Push up on the nail or pin and the lock should come out. YOU MUST HAVE THE KEY IN THE LOCK TO DO THIS.

Thanks DaveBen, do you know if I need to disco. my batteries? Also is there anything behind the switch that makes contact difficult, i.e. type of metals (maybe some that shrink or move when cold)? I will try to get it out today and see if I can find something. I have used compressed air to blow down the key hole and WD-40 but neither one done anything.

What led you to use a hair dryer to begin with? No sarcasm, just curious.

If the key system is like many other vehicles, the key cylinder is just an actuator that moves the real switch which is under the dash above the steering column. Which gets me to wondering too, why the hair dryer??

Just one night at my mom's house it did the same thing (wouldn't hit a lick) and tried the hair dryer on the starter solenoid, then the glow plug solenoid and nothing , so I was just trying anything and well the next thing was the key switch. Used it for about 2 min on each and the key one is the only one that got it to turn over. Knew it had to be something because when I turned the switch to start position the radio would go out and the blower would stop but the starter wouldn't do anything. I know it is strange but hey it's worked lately using the hair dryer. It is bad when at Wal-Mart last night it didn't start and had to use the hair dryer with my inverter (only in the cool position) finally after about 10 min it started?
