Hi every one, my 2000 7.3 is rough running, no codes, I changed the valve covergaskets, internal wiring and glow plugs recently, this problem was going on before that.also i changed the cps. and checked the tps with a scanner. I have heard that I can/may have a problem with the hi pop oil system, it checks ok with the scanner pressure wise. I have heard that you can get aggresive with a solvent right before an oil change? Any ideas would be great.
Regards

Stock ? Any Mods ?

Sounds like.. yet another "Air In The Fuel system" issue. You could check out a couple of current posts on the problem... and the fixes ?

I would NOT use any solvent in your OIL SYSTEM. The HPOP will suffer damage if it is not properly lubricated all of the time. Be Careful!

x2

When you say internal wiring....you mean the injector harness?? Did you have the injectors checked out with a scanner?

What kind of fuel pressure are you getting? I've read on another forum of a guy with a similar problem. He had the truck running and for some reason:dunno he opened the fuel bowl drain valve and the problem stopped, untill he closed it back. Maybe this was getting the air out of the system....but I dont see how since the air would be at the top....right??

x2....probably not good for the gaskets either. And tracking down fuel leaks can be a PAIN!!!!!

Food for thought, while the engine is cold... and I do mean cold, start it up run it for a few minutes, just long enough for the exhaust manifold to START to get warm. Shut her off. Manually touch each exhaust port, if you have a bad one you will FEEL the difference. Might give you a clue of where the problem lies.
