2000 7.3 Down on Compression

welcome to the site...(first time ive seen ya) i dont know of any issuse with the pistons or valves on the 7.3..
but tell us about the truck mods & miles itll give us a little more insight as to what the problem might be.... also for future refrence you should make a signature and list what the truck is, mods, and what if anything if pulls so the mechanics around here can better understand any problems.....

How did you test compression? Through the glow plug hole? IF so shoot some oil in (not much, like two squirts) and see if the compression goes up, if so it is the piston/rings. I would guess the most likely solution is head gasket though. Any bubbles in the coolant?
Thanks for the welcome. It is a 2000 F350 Crew Cab 7.3 with 175,000 miles. To my knowledge it is all stock, I just purchased it for a good price hoping that it was a simple problem. I took it to International Fuel Systems in Ohio and they ran a scope on it. The fuel pressure is perfect at the pump and all the injectors. Compression is down on cylinder #1, they said it read 195 lbs. According to them 425 lbs is perfect and 250 lbs is minimum. Thanks again!
