2 questions

got couple questions guys, 1, just was rompin on the truck today, and noticed for some reason it wont see over 20lbs of boost?....on level 4 on the edge, kinda weird....no exhaust leaks at all, used to see close to 30 kinda easy, question number 2 is i got a small fuel leak and i think its comin from the fuel filter drain valve, the drain tube is all wet and i'll dry it and then it'll come back, was just wondering if anybody had anything similar, i was gonna get the orings from black cloud diesel and swap em out, just didnt know if anybody had any other ideas, thanx for any info guys!!

Question #2, get the orings from www.blackcouddieselperformance.com and you will solve that problem.

Question #1. If you are not running a CCV bypass, then the most likely cause will be from a boost leak created by oil around the boots. You can find them easily by setting up something like this:

vbpgimage.php


Regulate the air compressor down to about 20 psi and open the valve slowly. Don't let it run more than a few seconds because there is no fresh oil making it to the turbo. If you have a boost leak you will find it easily this way. The most likely culprit will be at the y-pipe and intake connection.

The worst case scenario is your turbo is beginning to go out from one too many runs at 30psi.

sweet, thanx for the info bryan, i just ordered the orings from pure diesel performance, seems black cloud changed their name?...gonna see what i can do about the boost test this weekend, got another question for you guys while i'm thinkin, i got 82,000 miles on my truck, i opened the oil fill the other day while she was running and noticed quite a bit of smoke, she was chuggin like a train a little bit, wasnt like outrageous, but enough to get me thinkin, now some people say dont really worry, some say do, when i bought the truck at 60,000 it didnt do any, so i was just wondering what you guys think, thanx again for any info, this site really helps out. :thanks
