The 7.3L only has 67,000 on the clock but is going thru I want to say 2-3 quarts within 4,000 miles, seem unusual as it's quite a jump from the last oil change cycle.

Maybe a sign to change the oil/filter early?

It could be an injector o ring issue.:dunno

I have have been using 2 stroke oil for over 7 months with no change in oil consuption.

Changed out the injector o-rings in November 2006 so I doubt they went already but I'll be doing a Blackstone in 3-4 weeks so we'll see.

Guys, guys, guys...
you're guessing. Quit that. :dunno
Approach it logically... :sweet

Bill changed the oil... the consumption increased...
there's your first clue...

he's probably done a CCV mod...
has the vapor coming out of the tube increased?

how about dribbledrips in the garage?
seen any?
any of that spray on the tailgate/bumper?

Well, I've been checking my oil, just checked it again and it has stayed at the same level since I changed it about 3000 mi. ago. I'm using 1 oz. 2 cycle oil per gal, no white smoke, no difference in oil. I do a lot of OTR driving and generally cruise around 70 mph when I can.

Youve completely lost me JL  , I dont see where Bill has changed oil?

Bill's info to us has been that SINCE he began adding 2 cycle to his fuel his oil consupmtion increased.

right there
regardless...
you have to think this way; If 2-stroke oil was to blame, there'd be a more widespread problem with it
if it had a bum injector o-ring, there would most likely be compound problems (hard cold starts, rough idle, etc)
glazed cylinders will leak more blow-by, ergo my comment about is the CCV venting more vapor...

sooooooooo.... I'm thinking Bill needs to change his oil.
