1999 7.3PS Transmission Shot! Help!

Somebody just posted a 4R100 4x4 tranny in the Parts For Sale section for $700. He doesn't seem to sure on the condition though. Might be worth a shot if you don't want to spend 3000 on a rebuild.

I inspected the transmission about an hour ago. HOLY SMOKES!! There was metal shavings EVERYWHERE. I'll post the pictures to my photo album. I'm having the ATS converter replaced with another billet one, as well as a shift kit. As far as the other ATS components....BEWARE. I'm going to have a nice chuckle at anyone who spends THAT kind of money for how little was upgraded. There was a metal ring (i have no idea what they called it) that was machined down so they could fit a few more clutch packs (those circular things) in it. Big whoop.
Throw in a deep pan with a fancy ATS logo and fork over a couple thousand more dollars.
Just a warning. Know what's going in your truck before spending thousands of dollars on the name.

The metal rings are the pressure plates.

Did you see those pics? I'd only seen a transmission disassembled one time. I couldn't believe how mangled it all was. Wonder how long it takes to get that bad.
