Cant be any worse than try to get to the plugs on my wife's 2000 Explorer with the 5.0 V8. I'm really excited about changing those soon.

Nice that it has 4 wheel drive for use in bad weather.

These things have a awesome 4 wheel drive system. I forget what it is called - Control Trac or something like that but it hooks up. It is some kind of automatic 4x4 system so when doing tight maneuvering in parking lots and such it doesn't bind up. We run 4x4 a quite a bit during the winter.

can anything be worse than the dual plugged 4 bangers in the ranger? i thought my 92 4.0 was a PITA, but GF's ranger takes the cake!

crumm- why a block heater instead of a tank style heater like the zerostart?

Block heaters do a much better job heating the block, especially in areas that get really COLD :cold 3

I only will use a tank heater when there is absolutely no way to do a block heater...

When we bought ours I took it to a mechanic I use to check it out. He said this was a german designed engine that he was very impressed with. Said it would just keep going and going.

Got a laugh when I mentioned to him that even with the air ride shocks it sure road rough.............he told me..........."oh thats normal, you can run over a gnat and tell what sex it is." lol

I am cleaning the parts shelves at my shop and recently found 2 freeze plug block heaters that I had no clue I had. :roflmao It will be so nice once I clean that pig pen of an area.

Like royboy said the block heaters are much better than the tank heaters. Less trouble too, the tank heaters only last a few years as the block heaters last forever. I also installed a oil pan heater and transmission pan heater so she is toasty. Just got in from work and what do you know the weather warmed right up. Only down to 10 degrees. I knew if I got prepared it would warm up :sweet
