Where is a good point inside to pick up a battery feed on the 2004 Excursion? I want to wire in a cooler. Did not see a power point under the hood other than the battery terminals themselves and no post on the fuse panel.

I have tapped the 12v line behind the powerpoint...

Ive installed some "extra" power points under each of
the front seat (cause i cant STAND loose wires)...For the
under seat power points (used to charge cell phones typically).

the Seats are "hot" all the time...which is perfect (to me) for
charging phones or running a cooler.

Actually I am looking for a bit more power than I can get from the existing power Points.

I would like to install a small fuse block and use that for the cooler and future additions so I need a post to tie into.

Then id run some HEAVY gauge right off one of the batteries...
make sure its FUSED (or use a circuit breaker) CLOSE to the battery.

For my amps i run 2ga wire off the battery, to a circuit breaker (mounted
on the fender) and then thru the firewall and along the door sills all the
way to the back under the rear seats....once your under the rear seat
you can run a fuse block.

Yep, ditto bush's sentiments.... for that kind of application you are better off going straight to the source with a properly rated wire for the load(s) you intend to place on it. Find a place to land a fuse block in the vehicle and add your toys.
