I just bought my 07 lariat and right now it has about 1000 miles on it.

My question is this...what are you guys with 07's reading on your factory boost gauge? Under half or wide open throttle mine always reads 20psi.

Also, some days my truck seems it is more responsive than others. But, mostly it is a turd off the line till boost then it does fine.

I am coming from a modded 05 duramax though so the power issue may be to do everything i had done to the duramax, do it to the new stroke and then enjoy.

And, lastly.....how well does the factory boost gauge REALLY read?

i ususally dont hit 30 unless i am getting on it
most of th etime taking off from a red light it will be 10-20 depending on how far i let her wind up.
on the highway empty level ground at 75 ish it pulls 10 at 2500 rpm
at 80 it pulls 10-15 depending on wind

I wish I hit 30 psi! I hit 20 psi under WOT.

It might get better with more miles so, we'll see.

It just is under powered to me.

Also, my radiator fan seems like it runs all the time. It can be 75 outside and the fan will be roaring!!! It is annoying the crap out of me.

if the factory BOOST guage is anything like THIS ONE
then i dont think id even bother looking at it.

My pillar mounted autometer boost guage shows 28-30lbs (from
what i can tell....depending on the ambient temp)

you need to go back in and have it checked. there has been a few lately with engine fan "ON" times recently, may just need a reflash. last person i spke with that had a similiar issue with his fan, found out a bad temp sensor, and it was an 07,
you should be able to hit 30 WOT in 3rd 4th gear easy, might run out of road

bush our dash boost gauge moves and has numbers to :D :roflmao very responsive to throttle :roflmao , i have no idea if its calibrated but it seems to work ok. :dunno

ok well it doesnt have all the markings an aftermarket guage has...
not that that is a big deal, were not talkin' precision instrument here
anyway.

my point really was that the factory trans guage is completely worthless
and shoulded be relied upon...its an idiot light w/ a needle, and i BET
the water temp guage is the same way.

ive seen 20-22 ~ on the factory gauge empty and 28~ towing a good load...

Someone once said the 6.0s shouldnt be boosted over 28psi with a aftermarket chip? is that correct unless you upgrade to head stud kits? Is our factory gauge at 30psi or that mid point mark anywhere accurate?

I would not trust the Factory Guage. Add an after market guage and be sure of your boost. Don't go by the rumors of what others have for boost. I can tell you that I saw 105 pounds of boost with stock headbolts and lived.
