Has anyone had any problems with the steering getting tight? This is on my 06 cc 4x4. is seems to happen more when i am stopping and turning, like making a Y turn or backing out of a parking space. the ball joints are good, along with the ujoints. i am not sure if it is in the gear box or the pump not keeping up.

Thanks For the input.

mine did it a couple of times ,, not sure why ? I went to swing into a turn I make all the time and couldn't get it on the first shot ?

I flushed the power steering fluid and that seemed to help

I am almost thinking a tensioner issue for the belt

I hit some road bumps the other day and my brakes felt fluttery at the peddle
I think the hydro boost lost pressure do to slipping

so I might swap the tensioner out

the ps pump supplies pressure to the brake master cylinder booster as well as the steering gear box
some super duties if you step on the brake at LOW speeds and turn it feels tight...sort of run out of pressurized fluid so to speak. low eng rpms and slow over the ground speeds tends to exacerbate the problem
I don't remember my 6.0 having that issue as much as the 7.3 set up did.

HMM ?
My SCT lets you bump the idle up about 50 rpm that may help if pump contribution is the issue ? I may try that myself
