As I wrote last week, we corrected a "no start when hot" condition. Now we have another problem. The owner was changing his batteries out in the truck and somehow arced the positive post of the driver side battery to the engine. Now the truck won't start.

There is no CEL however after the truck has cranked over for about 5 seconds, TBC FAULT comes across the dash screen.

Has anybody done this before or has any idea what to look at. We have pulled every fuse that has a visible fuse link and checked them. None were bad.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Les

My guess is that your customer fried the computer(s) in the truck by the arcing. Electronics don't like this treatment. Good Luck correcting this. I would start looking for a new (used) PCM. I have never heard of a "TBC FAULT".

I have found TBC stands for Trailer Brake Controller.

Fried electronics is what I am afraid of. Was interested if somebody else had actually dealt with this problem and could tell me what they found.

Would a Auto Enginuity Scan tool identify the problem?

Thanks Les
