:dunno After new injectors, new o rings etc. twice broke down miles from home - towed to dealer twice - we are pursuing Ford- All this happened at 52K -we tow 13K fifth wheel - overheats, turbo screams and it loses all power going up a small hill. Thought this would be a perfect retirement tow vehicle - guess not! Anyone out there familiar with a Ford Buy Back?

2005 KR dually PSD loaded-nice lookin truck -won't do its job!
2006 KZ Escalade

Think we might go for a 2008 Chevy!

I'd second that... there are plenty of dealerships out there, and more than a couple have lousy tech departments. It's sad really. Take it to a different branch dealer and explain to them the history and what's up. I'll bet you'd be fine after that.

So youve had 52,000 relatively trouble free miles? At 52K you should still be under the engine warranty. Is there something specific you came here to ask other than about buy back? There are many knowledgable users here that can offer tech help if you want to ask a tech question. Not many of the users here will care to help you if all you want is to tell us youre moving on to an 08 Chevy, just go get it and enjoy.

No broke down at 20000 - they put a new turbo in - broke down at 33000 - overheated and died - they replaced a radiator - broke down at 45000 put one bank of injectors in - lost everything at 52K - and then again at 56K. Three different dealers - seems they can't find out the cause. We put back in to the original dealer and contacted Ford - thought you all might have an idea on what is the cause! Sorry didn't know you all were so Ford Tech minded!:thanks

we are TECHNICAL & MANY of us own VERY EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC tools...
and LOTS of us perform our own repairs.

the experiance and skill set vary...some are techs, some are engine builders
some are DIY'ers & Shade Tree mechanics in our own right...

if you can give us some engine codes and symptoms we can mostly be
of further assistance (assuming youre interested in solving the problems
by means OTHER than a buy-back)

there are LEMONS no doubt...but they are few and far between.

FORD & Its dealers have done a piss poor job of training their techs...
lots of techs know nothing more than RIP, REPLACE, and HOPE (they
eliminated the problem).

20k for a new turbo is SUSPECT...
"broke down" isnt much a problem description...
overheated could be a result of lots of things...no coolant would be a start...

and

"lost everything" w/in 4k miles of having "lost everything" previously
generates SUSPICIONS of a tech&dealer that doesnt know what theyre
doing !
