05 6.0 will idle but white smokes and no throttle

my truck will idle and start fine but when you give it fuel it starts white smoking and tries to die. i changed the fuel filter on the motor still the same.i am new to diesels so i dont know anything.

Hello,

There is two fuel filters on your truck. One on top of the motor and one under the frame on the drivers side. On the bottom is the water seperater and larger fuel filter. you should always change both filter at the same time, good practice. I change mine every other oil change (5000 oil intervals) Did you change that one too? Good luck and hope this helps. Just my 2 cents worth of help on this great site!

changed the other one today and added a fuel treatment is a little better now but still acts up when you are only at part throttle.

did you drain the fuel/water seperator(HFCM)?

how is coolant level?
