Question 05-06 Stock Tire sizes

Can somebody tell me what the stock tire size is on a 05ish SRW Superduty? I saw on a 05 F-350 that it had some 17 or 18 inch rims with a tire size I don't recall.

In the pursuit of greater fuel economy, I have begun to ponder a change of tires.

I've been running 285/75R16's and am getting 17 to 19 straight highway MPG.

I'm thinking of a narrower profile tire somewhat like a 235/85R16 in an all season radial highway tire. But I think I'd like to get something a tad bit bigger around to "adjust" the over-all effective axle ratio.

Also, how do the wheel lug pattern sizes compare 99 vs 05ish?

My 05 came with (and calls for on the door sticker) 265/70/17. But some 05 came with 18" wheels and I am not sure about those.

The lug patterns are the same, but the backspacing is different, 05+ wheels won't work on 99-04 SD's due to the backspacing difference.

My 07 F-350 has 275/70/18" wheels on it. I think those were the standard size for the 18" wheels in 05 as well.

The 05 I was looking at was a super cab 4x4.

Mine is a 99 F-250 super cab 4x4.

The smallest tire for an F350 is a LT265/70Rx17E that was standard on all XL's Standard 4x4 for XLT's and Lariat's LT275/70Rx18E.
