What size axle is in the 1ton 04. I'm looking into buying some gears for it! thanks

mine has a sterling 10.25 or 10.5....you need to be a little more descriptive
in what you mean by "size"...

probaly means the size of the ring gear, which it should be 10.5. it will also say on the tag bolted to rear diff cover....

ok well in THAT case the 99-current has a 10.5"....god knows i was
just under mine (and relocated the tags) when i changed over to the
NEW 08 fin'd cover.

but as i understand it theres a diff. housing for the DRW...so again...
more info would be helpful.

yes he didn`t state wether it was a srw or drw, but all he needs to to is get code of the tag ....there is alot of info on that tag.

Sorry, i was in a rush out the door! What i meant was what kinda rear end is in it? like dana 60 or what ever. Its a SRW also

the rear is a sterling...i THINK the fronts a dana 60 (or 80)

The drw have a dana 80 and the srw have a sterling.The dana 80 has a 10 bolt cover and the sterling has 12 bolts.The dana 80 also comes on some f450. Im still trying to find the part # for the aluminum diff. cover for the dana 80. Does any body know?

It's not a Dana 80, the 250's have a sterling 10.25 and the 350's have a sterling 10.50 both share the same housing just different ring gear size. On the front axle it is a Dana 60 or 50 depending on year.

Maybe the Dually's have a dana 80 in the rear, but SRW SuperDuties don't
