02 f350 trans problems

transmission seems to kick outta gear at idle. if u rev it up a bit it takes off and seems to shift fine until u stop again. im guessing tranny going for a crap?

yes its full and not burnt. seems to be fine except at stops and takeoff . maybe oil pump in tranny getting weak?slips until it hits 1500 rpm then then takes off

It is acting like it has a high stall torque converter in it. I really don't know much about automatic transmissions , But you may be able to adjust the bands in the trans and have it work better. I hope that someone with more knowledge, will help you out.

Thats exactly how it was taking off. However i dropped the pan to find a pile of ground metal that would prob fit pepsi can. Put new filter on replaced fluid and now it does nothing. Weird but it has over 400000 on it so i guess its time

Good chance the converter is getting ready to die.

Joe, his 400000 may be KM's so that would still be about 248548. It's for sure time for a new or rebuilt one.
