As you may have figured out... from reading on here... Two GOOD, load tested Batteries, with real clean (and maintained) connections.. juiced by an Alternator putting out 14.5 volts, @ idle... is absolutely required for these PSD's to start & run right. The ECM/PCM is Anal to Volts & Amps.

Many, many gremlins, thru the years, such as yours... have been fixed.. with 2 new batteries. It's also been proven that a 160, or [180] Amp Alternator is much better.. long term.. than the stock 120 Amp'r ?

Not Preach'n.. Jus' Say'n.

I know your right about the volts. But I drove it approx 3k with the light on and the same volts without this issue. I have ordered a new one and if it fixes it I will do a backflip.

Ok had some time with the truck today. Replaced the icp and the idm also cleaned the wiring harness connectors with contact cleaner and dielectric grease. Still no change but on the good side the p1316 code is now gone. My new alternator will be in tomorrow so i will be able to eliminate that going to clean the exhaust back pressure sensor and tube hopefully one of them will fix it.

Been awhile since I wrenched on a 7.3 Jdark.. but those HPOP psi's seem weak.

i haven't either till this one if it was my 6.0 I wouldn't have had this problem even the local shops were scratching their heads on it. One of them all he does is diesel and he told me today that he was glad that it was me working on it and that I didn't bring it into the shop. As far as the hpop numbers the guys that I have talked to said that it was normal range. I hope that it is to give my pocket book a break for a while.

Just another thought... Air getting in the fuel system ?

Fill yer tank full.. see if there's any Dif, after a few miles ?

If you don't know about'm all ready.. there are some 7.3, fuel Delivery system Mods that can be done (cheap) that can really make a difference.. once you purge the (unwanted) air out of the fuel delivery system.

Do a SDD search for the: "Hutch" & the "Harpoon" Mods.... fer starters ?

I found the problem it was the uvch on the drivers side but I will look up those mods always looking for something better. On another note it's almost done with the transformation
