    productivity screen

There was a discussion regarding this on another site, sounds like you would need the new cluster and have the dealer reprogram it to work. Might be quite expensive.

    Just had to vent!

Go to another dealer. I got 18500 for mine on trade it was an 2006 6.0. The truck was running like crap too. EGR problems. I try to find dealers out in the country where diesels are their market. You get better values as opposed to one in a suburb or city, at least thats what my own...

    Towing with 3.31 gears

Not to try and put down your 01 f150, but you will find so many things different and better, you like most of us will probably not be able to walk away with out buying the new one.

    Towing with 3.31 gears

you would have a better mechaical advantage with the 3.55 but with 800lb/ft of torque, this thing pulls strong. I have the 3.73 but I think thats a DRW only option. Only 700 miles on her and Im getting 18+ highway. Im amazed at the power and fuel efficiency so far.

    OK, i did it.

Haven't noticed any major lag, but I only got 160 miles on it.

    OK, i did it.

No doubt there are things I miss about the 6.0, one being I thought it was one of the best sounding ones. DEF isn't an issue with me, they pump it at my local station. No really big plans, adding mud flaps and tint, otherwise just driving it.

    OK, i did it.

After an agonizing year of constant maintenance and repairs, I sold the 6.0 and got a new 2012 F-350 DRW. My original attempt to get a clean used truck cheap, has ended up costing me more than a new truck payment. So got my A-plan pin and went shopping. So far, this is a night and day...

    Clicking noise from wheel

So i exercised the 4wd yesterday and the clocking stopped. So im guessing its the hub. Probably will need to repair it sooner or later but damn are these expensive.

    Clicking noise from wheel

I will check it. I thought the front axle didnt move unless you had the the hubs locked and transfer case in 4wd? I rarely use 4wd, so normally I leave the hubs on auto and drive in 2wd. Thanks

    Clicking noise from wheel

Ok, 2006 F-350 dually 89k miles. I replaced the front rotors, pads and calipers and the clicking noise was present on left front wheel prior to brake repairs. It went away after repair only to come back. Does it in 2 or 4wd. Ball joints are good. Steering is nice and tight, doesnt look like...

    Outlook vs Insight

Who is running these and what are your thoughts? I'm looking at gauges and I think I'm leading this way instead of traditional gauges. I have no want or need for a tuner, just monitoring capabilities. Both look like I have to add the pyro sending unit. Thanks.

    Plugging in your truck.

I try to plug in my truck when the weather drops below 20. I have the cord hooked up to an outdoor landscape timer so I set it to my work schedule, that way I'm not wasting electricity. Currently I have it set up to warm for 5 1/2 hours. My question is what is the optimum time to be plugged in...

Question-Is Rev-X snake oil or does it solve stiction?

I used it, had some improvement but ultimately had to replaced failed injectors. Maybe if I would have tried sooner?

    bed weight and traction

I use about 500-600 lbs of bagged rock salt for weight, it works and should I get stuck I can melt my way out.

    Gray water tank indicator.

They make a chemical additive to dump in the black or gray tank to try and clean the fluid level sensors, I believe Thetford and others make it. Might be worth a shot, only a few bucks.

    Question Considering a 6.0

Like Dave said, maintenance is key, but it was run like crap before, there is no guarantee that it wont as a personal vehicle. I've been around the 6.0's in ambulances for many years, relatively no major issues with extended idling and proper PM, key being Proper PM. Remember the E-series was...

F250 Super duty 6.0 cold engine miss?

Its probably a sticking spool valve in the injector, try Rev X like before, had same issue with mine, slight improvement with Rev X, but crapped out 2 injectors, failed balance test. Ended up replacing injectors, no more problem, FICM tested out good. Have a dealer or good diesel shop test the...

Question How much does it weigh?

my dually weighs approx. 8500 with myself and full tank of fuel. GVWR 13500. I weighed mine regularly hauling construction debris through scales. I think the GCWR is around 23.5k if I rememeber right. In Ohio I'm permanently exempt from emissions due to GVWR and I had the option to register...

    valve core question

fixed, replaced the core, turns out the needle was bent slightly and would not seat correctly, 3 minute fix for under $2.00. Thanks for the help.

    valve core question

Got a leaky valve core, the needle wiggles and is causing the tire to lose air. Question is are valve cores a standard size? A box of 4 is $1.99 at the parts store and they only have 1 size. I'd rather just replace that as opposed to taking the wheel off and going to the tire shop and dealing...
