    Cleaning AFE filter

It is about time for me to clean my AFE filter and I am wondering if I can use a K&N cleaner kit(i believe its called a recharge kit). i would assume they use the same cleaners and oil, but I want to double check first.

    TDC FAULT

i am pretty sure mine has something to do with a loose wire. When i was driving around an hour ago, the light was going on and off very speradically. Anyone have a diagram for this wiring so I know where all the connections are?

    TDC FAULT

I believe he has a TBC fault, and I only say this because found your thread searching for the solution myself. It is a Trailor Break Fault. i have the exact same truck (except mines auto) and I believe all the 350's came with factory trailor brake setups. Mine started doing this about a week...

Opinions on AFE stage 1 system

i do have a great wife. After installing the filter I am very happy, and plan on doing the zoo-dad mod in the future. So far the only thing i dont like about the filter is knowing that i have to take the entire intake system apart justto clean the filter.

    NEED HELP: engine acting up

Ran the truck all day Xmas eve and xmas day without the programmer installed. Last night i ran the diagnostic test from the programmer and it didnt pull any codes. I am starting to wondering if the programmer is messing something up, or if the boosted power from the programmer is bring a...

    So why are programmers bad?

Most people would probably say that as a whole programmers are not that bad. One of the biggest issues for you is using them on a 6.0l which already has issues of blowing its headgaskit. when you add more pressure to the engine as Bushpilot said in conjuction with head gaskit issues, you may...

    NEED HELP: engine acting up

i am running the superchips programmer but at the lowest level(safe tow). Mainly I wanted it to recalibrate my tires, and it would not let me recalibrate without putting it on a tune level. The programmer said 1 or 1 codes found. So unless it missed one that is the only one showing...

    NEED HELP: engine acting up

ran my programmer today and it pulled code PO284. according to a search i have done this is an injector issue. Not sure how this would relate to my coolant issue and excessive smoke when warming up though.

Opinions on AFE stage 1 system

For my birthday my wife bought me the aFe stage one system. I was wanting an air intake, so the gift was awesome, but I am wondering if this is a good system. All it appears to be is a replacement of the filter, and the oval housing.

    NEED HELP: engine acting up

bigdog, thanks for the help but honestly that sounds a little to involved for me. I could probably do it mechanically, but I really do not have time to work on my vehicles anymore. I am going to look at the egr myself, and if does not look like the problem I am going to drop it off at the...

    NEED HELP: engine acting up

that is what i plan to do from now on. The problem with filling it up is that you can not see throught the plastic of my degas. It is a dark yellow color and not very transparent, so I can not really see what level the fluid is at.

I believe the best gift is yet to come. I am about 99% sure that for my Xmas gift from my wife, I am getting the go ahead to buy my wheels and tires. She asked me what I wanted, and I told here I wanted a napkin that said you can buy your wheels and tires.

    NEED HELP: engine acting up

Seriously bush, where do you get all these links. They are truely helpful but how you find this stuff. hahaha. Anyways, after reading that link I am pretty sure that some of my fluid loss over the past few days was from overfilling then being pushed out the cap while driving. Should I try...

    NEED HELP: engine acting up

Update: over the past few days I have been checking the resevoir and it is slowly losing coolant. i would say about 1/4" ever 3 days in the resevoir. I know some of it is overflowing through the cap, but I am not sure if I am just filling it too high or something is causing it to get really...

Rim & Tire size question ???

i dont believe you have to worry about the backspacing. Majority of the wheels with our bolt pattern were designed for superdutys so the backspacing should be fine with just about any 8x170 bolt pattern wheel.

Rim & Tire size question ???

anyone that says you cant go bigger than 17" on any superduty is an idiot. You could easily go as high as 24", if you wanted to. With a 2" lift, you could probably fit 35" x 12.5" tires. Alot of guys run 33"x12.5 with no lift. It all depends on whether you want as big a tire as possible or...

    to upgrade or not

Unless you are running the semi tires on the 22.5" wheels the upgrade would be 100% cosmetic and would not help with your tire life. To run the semi tires you will will need atleast a 6" list or 8" for some trucks, which as stated before is not that practical while pulling a gooseneck...
