    Tow/Haul Button

Ford Controls... Bushpilot-In dealing with Crown Vics at least, the way that rsjohnsn figured out the 12v constant, 12v on/off and ground seems to be how Ford controls all of their systems like that (park kill switches to shut off sirens/lights, horn interface to cycle siren systems, etc). If...

    A/C Freon Questions

Now that I've had my 07 PSD for months, I REALLY want to get rid of my 87 Chevy. Now that it's hot outside, the fact that the A/C doesn't work on it seems to be a problem. I know it's a piece of chevy, but the concepts should be the same.... Being an 87 it's got the R12 system, nothing to...

plug (near power point) behind dash

Does this mean I could install a passenger side airbag shut-off switch in my 07 crew cab? Sometimes we have a child under 12 sitting there, and that would be nice. Since it's illegal for a child under 12 to sit in the front unless all rear seats are full this doesn't happen often, but who...

    Just Wonderin...

Thanks for the response. I don't really care much about the asthetic changes, this 07 is still close enough to my 01 that I still think it looks good! I was feeling pretty good about your response Maxtor until the part about the 03 engines...I've owned a # of Fords, and though I love 'em...

    Just Wonderin...

What exactly is the difference between a 2006 F250 CC PSD 4X4 and my 07? Just wondering. In the past I've had Fords that used some parts from the year before, some from the year after, and even some from the model year of the truck itself.

    Does this sound right?

Maxtor, there's a company in Chico by the airport called Transfer Flow. It's what they do. Check their website at http://www.transferflow.com/ They should be able to tell you how to see their stuff.

    Oil consumption

    Growing up, every bowtie my dad had burned 1 quart/oil change, every 3,000-5,000 miles, consistently as I recall. 97 Chevy w/ Vortec 350=1 qt./4,000 miles 2002 Suburban w/ 5.3 V8=1/2-1 quart/3500 miles, depending on use 87 Chevy w/ 350 V8=1 qt./3500 miles 98 Dodge w/ 318=1 qt./800 miles...

    MPG question...

uzd 2 have 01 F250 supercab 4X4 w/ 7.3 PSD, auto, 3.73's and 315/80R16 tires. I got 14avg city and 16-18 hwy. It went into the shop once for a warranty issue. I had a brand new 97 chevy p/u for 1 year and an 02 chevy suburban for 2 1/2. When I owned them, I got to spend ALOT of time with the...

    Found this elsewhere....

I feel better for runnin out and grabbin an 07 when there was still a bit of selection left. My doomsday fears are being substantiated... I'm not paranoid if they're really watchin me (and my truck)...

It's That Time of Year Again.....

I absolutely recommend the 1987 Chevy 3/4T 4X4...and they're cheap with a new engine and trans...only $3500! That includes fresh oil & filter w/ 0 miles (I haven't moved it since I changed the oil...guess I prefer the PSD CC instead!):roflmao :roflmao :roflmao

HONEST mileage - apples 2 apples

I notice your signature line says you have 285/75R16's...If you change the tire size to a larger tire and you don't correct the speedometer gear, you are actually travelling farther than what the odometer says. When I had 315/80R16's on my '01, the odometer was over 10% off. This will affect...

Died in the middle of the road - no warning

I second the CPS diagnosis. My 01 did that to me with 1,000 miles on it. Fortunately, mine restarted and ran long enough to get around the corner to where the dealer was. They replaced it and never had another problem with it...ever! :sweet

    Cat or Muffler delete ?

And why do my replies jump to the middle of the thread? Shouldn't the last reply go to the end of the line? Am I really that special? :roflmao :roflmao :roflmao

    Cat or Muffler delete ?

Do they all come with cat's in TX? I'm wondering if it is not unusual for some to come from the factory there without that junk, and maybe that's why they didn't care in the inspection. More importantly, I'm trying to figure out what warranty problems it would cause. If my kitty is sealed...

    fuel

So I guess that means you need to get a couple thousand gallon storage tank and buy as much of it as you can use now, before they go to the new stuff! Where are they still sellin it? Maybe I'll have to plan a trip. Let's see, if I can haul 3,000 lbs, and diesel should be bout 5 lbs/gal, I...

    fuel

If your 07 is the old style with the 6.0 PSD, then it is no different than the 06 6.0 PSD, except for the born on date. If it is the old diesel fuel, then you won't be able to use it in the new 6.4 engine...Am I right guys...? Oh, and if it's CA approved, then that means...nothing, except...

    Don't think this guy knows!!

guages Still haven't seen the answer to this come up yet. When you install the aftermarket turbo PSI and trans temp guages in the trucks that came with the OEM guages, do the OEM guages fall dead, or work in the way they do while the real guages do the real work? Also, wife says my oh sh#t...

1800 mile trip on 07 observations

Took a 1,000 mile trip and gave up on the cruise all together, it was ridiculous. I tried to set the cruise at 60 pullin 6500#. The truck would drop into O/D at about 57-58. When I set the cruise, the speed would drop below the shift point, accelerate hard to come back up to 60, kick out of...

HONEST mileage - apples 2 apples

Mileage... I just took a 1,000 mile round trip from Chico to Pismo Beach, CA pulling a 6500# travel trailer. Starting mileage was 726 on the odometer, and ending was about 1735. I hit 10 mpg on one tank, everything else was 8-9. My TT is pretty tall, so I'm wondering if a shell would help...

    Extra's

A couple of lessons I learned the 2nd time I pulled a trailer... First of all, don't tow it with a chevy with those tiny little itsy bitsy teeny weeny little mirrors with the clamp on towing mirrors...-mad Because if you do, you won't realize that even though you swung the corner wide...

    Trans Temp ???

That guage looks pretty sweet. Do the analog style guages use sending units etc or are they mechanical? I would think that mechanical might be more reliable over time, or does it really mater any more with todays electronics?

    Trans Temp ???

DaveBen- Thanks. I plan on doing the EGT guage, looks like it's pretty important. Like I said, now I think I got near the piston meltin point at least once or twice with my '01 (don't tell the guy that bought it...). The other big question is if the factory boost guage and trans temp guage...

    Trans Temp ???

I know what my dad's opinion is about relying on OEM guages (:haha ). My '01 had nothing, and knowing what I know now (only after reading this forum, of course), I think I overheated the EGT's a couple of times (worked it until it kinda ran outta power). My '07 has turbo boost PSI and trans...

    Finally...back to a PSD

I tried to add her to my profile and it wouldn't accept the upload, even though I got it down to about 16kb. I'll try to attach a photo... I live about 90 miles north of Sacramento. There are more cows than people between me and the nearest town (Chico), and I can see from Paradise to the...

    Production Begins...

When I picked up my '07 in mid-December, the sales managers had just gotten back from "training" on the new ones and said just add about $6 grand to the current stickers. What is "training" anyway...drive 'em till ya break 'em...?
