    1999 Powerstroke Excessive Oil Consumption

Well your compression #s are good, prolly not the injector o-rings since the fuel filters good, and I take it your turbo is not pumping oil out the seals and there are no visible external leaks.........only thing left I can think about is the oil cooler leaking into the coolant.

    Fuel additives lubricity breakdown

Good info! I'm not suprised about the B2 at the top. kinda surprised about the blue label Stanadyne. But I've got all the lubricity I need.

    Waste Gate

The factory orange boots that connect the "y" and the plenums are thin and clamped with regular worm gear clamps, not t-bolt clamps. Because they are thin they get oil soaked easily and prolly bulge alot under boost. Thicker ones don't flex and get soaked as easy. I haven't had any problems...

    Waste Gate

'99-'03 7.3s come with a wastegated .84 A/R exhaust housing. OBS come with a 1.15A/R non-wastegated housing. Just tightening oily boots won't help. The oil gets between the metal and the rubber, once under boost they bulge and will do exactly what the OP has experienced. I got my boots...

    Vacuum gauge for fuel restriction?

My Racor gauge has yellow zone from 6-8"Hg....higher than 8 is red. Racor tech told me to try and not exceed 8. Entrained air could be released once you get that high. Also my gauge isn't liquid filled. On another note...I had to fill with dirty #2 a couple days ago since my bio supplier...

    Vacuum gauge for fuel restriction?

Mine is under the truck. I'm thinking of moving it into the cab with teflon tubing like the one used for a boost gauge. Reason I want teflon is to withstand the B99. With it under vacuum and being that high above the point where you tied into the system I don't think there would be a...

AFE Stage II vs Donaldson Style Filter

Do you have good UOA to support that? Have you ever smeared some grease in the tube to see what you catch? My UOA were better when I went from an Airaid to the paper Donaldson. Maybe those 100k of standard media have dusted your cylinder walls and you have excessive blowby and crankcase...

Biodiesel now available in Huntsville, AL

Drain your HFCM often to make sure you are getting quality fuel. If you find a milky substance I would bet they are using at least some animal fats and not getting a full reaction. Feels good to be green huh!

AFE Stage II vs Donaldson Style Filter

Get the ProGuard 7 add an 8th layer(prefilter) and you should be good to go. IMO the standard media passes too much. I still don't like running cotton gauze up here but Peter made me a deal I couldn't refuse on my Volant.

    Shimming the FPR 99-03 7.3

Have you done any oil analysis or had your injectors out to see what your o-rings look like? Black_cloud_stroker.....yes you will feel a bit more throttle response even with a chip.

    95issues, hard starting, miss,IDM?

Welcome to SDD! Have you ever replaced injector o-rings? Mine would be hard to start sometimes recently and would blow clouds of white smoke. I found myy o-rings were shot when I replaced the injectors yestereday.

MOD Day at my place 8-18

I made it back just fine about midnight.:sweet New injectors run great and super smooth with Tony's tuning.:D Had to get up early this morning and spend the day under a no-till grain drill re-spacing chisels so that we can drag through the knee high wheat stubble we have and not ball up...

    Shimming the FPR 99-03 7.3

It should bleed off pressure. If it doesn't you end up with a long cranking situation. I've personally seen this when my regulated return system didn't bleed for whatever reason. Did you have a long cranking issue before?

    A day on the farm

Hey I know that big red machine! :D Inside and out....I preferred the inside where the A/C is but breakdowns kept me outside ALOT.:cussing: Hope the yields were good. We had anywhere from 40-60 bushels/acre depending on the field we were at. And the price of wheat right now is :sweet !

    possible blown turbo

Did you go to Steamboat Lake or Stagecoach Reservoir? Either way I'm jealous! I would first check your exhaust brake to see if it's malfunctioning. There's no way you are going to make it back Rabbit Ear's pass and the climb from Dillon to Eisenhower tunnel are brutal!
