removing the heat wrap on the ic pipes

Actually the air coming out of the outlet of the compressor housing is WAY hotter than the air under the hood.;)

    COKING & Turbo

Yes it's still important. My owner's manual states it. Only after long pulls when the turbo's hot and sweaty is when I really worry about it.

    COKING & Turbo

Coking occurs when the turbo has shut down hot. Oil cooks between the shaft and the bearing and in extreme cases builds up inside the bearing housing. What the service bulletin is addressing is carbon or soot build up in the VGT mechanisms of the turbo. How's your air filter look? What...

    Stalls and stops running etc

Are you sure it's not your injector o-rings like stated already? Also is your coolant clean....could be a bad oil cooler.

    Cooling system refresh?

When I changed coolant I installed the 203 t-stat and a coolant filter since the system was empty.

    CODE P2285...

According to AE...Injector control pressure sensor circuit low. Not sure on what model year the ICP sensor is in the VC and not under the turbo. I think late '03 may be under the turbo.

Running Rough TS Performance 6 Position Chip

What did you use to read codes? Not all readers will read Ford specific codes.

Truck just cranks, never turns over

Were the batteries connected when he pulled the PCM to clean the contacts? Were the key in the ignition when the chip was installed? Do you get a WTS light? If keys were in the ignition he may have fried the PCM.:sorry

She bucked and now wont start

That's the oil pressure sender for the gauge cluster, your right. The EOT sensor hole would read the same pressure if you tapped there. If you still don't have pressure where you checked with the new LPOP you aren't getting a supply to the LPOP. With a good low pressure oil system you will...

    Long Starts

Hmmmm....may need to see what ICP at crank under both conditions. Do you have a scan tool or mechanical gauge rated for the pressures? Since the reservoir isn't leaking down I wonder if the injector o-rings are.

She bucked and now wont start

Just to make sure...did you pull the sensor labeled EOT in the pic or something else? If yes and no oil leaked out then you have an empty reservoir. THe res. is low pressure, only thing high pressure is in the rails and HPOP lines from the pump to the head. You may want to check pressure on...

    Fuel return flow

Actually it's 80-90ccs per 1000 squirts or 80-90mm^3 per squirt.;)

She bucked and now wont start

Actually the pressure sender is on the top of the reservoir, what you pulled was the oil temp sensor which is fine. Was there any oil in the reservoir? How did the front cover look? Is it grooved? The way it stumbled a few times then died leads me to think the pick up tube is cracked or...

She bucked and now wont start

On an engine in good running order the gauge won't show anything until it fires, it fires before the reservoir gets pressure. In a no start situation you will see the needle come up after cranking a bit if the LPOP is doing it's job. If you don't believe me disconnect your main harness on...

She bucked and now wont start

When I replaced my HPOP line and messed up a fitting it blew the line back out. I didn't notice the oil on the ground since it was dark. The needle moved after the reservoir was filled but it still wouldn't fire since one line wasn't connected. The gauge on a 7.3L is an on/off switch...6psi...

    Bully Dog 6pos?

Under the nut that holds the switch to what you mount it to there's a washer with a tab. The tab needs to go into the slot labeled "6". On the no start....do you get a WTS light? Did you verify with the seller what year model it was for? The chip has to be from the same PCM family or it...

    Long Starts

One way to rule out the GP system is to plug it in overnight and see if it starts quicker. It sounds more like the reservoir is loosing it's prime since it's taking 4-5 secs. Pull the plug on top of the driver's side of the reservoir before starting it next time. If it's more than 1-2"...

    bio fuel?

In terms of lubricity...yes. B20 would be fine in an '07 as long as it's QUALITY biodiesel. If it's cold where you are you need to make sure your B20 has some #1 in it. The only thing with running higher than B5 is that IF you have injector problems and Ford pulls a fuel sample.....you will...

    Bully Dog 6pos?

There's no difference between the two. TS supplies BD with chips and the tunes on them. Disappointed?? Not until you try a chip from a custom tuner...I like Tony Wildman's tunes. I've run TS, DI, DP and now use Tony for my tuning needs.:sweet

    Howe's anti-gel guarantee

The real question is what the fuel lines on the frame rails are going to do. The tank with large quantities may be fine but the little lines are the true test. That is why the SD's had the mixing chamber on the fuel pick up to mix warm return fuel with fresh fuel from the tank. First...

    fuel heater??

I use a Racor 900FH with a 300 watt heater and have run B50 down to 12*F with no starting issues. It's slightyly oversized to lower chances of vaccuum issues with thicker visocity.
