    oil leak

Welcome to SDD!:sweet If the "tube" in question is cast iron and is just below the driver's side exhaust manifold, it's the engine oil cooler. There are o-rings where it mates to the block and they sometimes leak. I think some coolers have even cracked. Is there any oil in your coolant?

Lets see those SuperDuty Trucks!! (OFFICIAL PICTURE THREAD)

Welcome to SDD!:sweet THat's pretty smooth looking! Is it still a dually or one big meat under the dually fenders? I've thought about doing that on a coil sprung narrowed nine inch project car with oversized wheels, just the cost of the wheels wakes me up from my dream.:roflmao :roflmao

Help!! weird smell when THe heat is on!

  I've read that we do and that we don't. I even called Napa after reading a brochure at the shop while waiting on my alignment and balancing to be done. Napa guy said we didn't have one.:dunno If we do where is it and how hard is it to change?

    New mod

:roflmao :roflmao His truck looks like mine did this morning. There was also a 3' drift in front of my porch since the house faces north. All kinds of wrecks this morning according to the news. Schools closed, I stayed home from work.:D Had to run an errand at about 1pm and it was...

Please Help! Shop rec. for Head Studs

Stock 6Ohs have been known to lift heads under heavy loads since they only have 2 rows of head bolts. Stock 6oh injectors are capable of quite alot and how do you lean out a diesel? Maybe under certain rare conditions. Diesels pop headgaskets from excessive boost or bad programing...

    Puzzled over No Start

I know that with the HPOP lines connected to the heads my engine gets to about 500psi when cranking. I don't know what it should read capped off like you have it. 0 reading doesn't sound good though. Check the IPR wiring and nut. Other than that I'm at a loss.

Maybe you could just add to 95Stroker's Injector Article to make it for both SD's and OBS trucks. Save you on a little time possibly.:sweet

    I JUST KILLED MY TRANNY!!!!

Or get a tranny and torque converter that can handle it!:D If you could wait, my first recommendation Brian's Truck Shop but their website doesn't mention the 5R110. Next would be ATS...http://www.atsdiesel.com/ATSWebsite/ProductsFord/Transmissions.asp seems fairly reasonable for a built...

SOURCE NEEDED: fuel filter <oem spec>

That's where I got my Racor 900FH Turbine Series filter from!:D Very helpful group there! Racor put a cut filter element in my special ordered assembly and they sent me a replacement before having the bad one back.:sweet

    Fuel drip with engine off.

Transmission dust cover? If so it's prolly the passenger side fuel feed line that goes into the back of the head by the down pipe. It's a vibra-loc fitting that has an o-ring that tends to leak. When I did my fuel system I was surprised mine wasn't leaking by the condition of the o-ring...

Help to put in Laymens terms

He said Wankel!:roflmao :roflmao :roflmao The Wankel is a VERY efficient engine, just add more rotors, housings, air(turbo) and fuel for whatever powerlevel you want. Only problem is that apex seals wear out.

Help to put in Laymens terms

ProChargers are centrifugal chargers like Paxton and Vortech chargers. Not roots type blowers like a 6-71 sticking out of the hood of an old hot rod. I don't think ProCharger or others make a charger big enough to produce the CFM we need for our engines. Add the parasitic loss and the...

can people get any more retarded??

:roflmao :roflmao Nice car, loose the wheels! I wonder what engine's in it really, Pontiac didn't make a 427CID much less a big blocks and small blocks:rolleyes: . Being a '66 only thing close would be the 421, good ole 4" stroke Poncho, I'd take it! It's got a HUGE backseat!:sly

    Water in Fuel Light

You can drain the filter housing and see if the light goes off. When I got a bad load of #2 it went off for 30 miles or so then would come back on. I changed the filter and cleaned all the sludge out of the bottom of the filter bowl. Light came back on in 100 miles. Then I ended up dropping...

2008 6.4L on BioDiesel from Ford

The B5 is prolly for lubricity more than anything along with BD lobbyists satisfaction. I wonder if they have even tested using B100.:dunno B20 would be nice to be approved but there's only one farm implement manufacturer that has approved B20 which is New Holland. Haven't kept up, New...

    Hypertec vs Edge vs Superchips

1350 for sustained periods is bad! Short bursts for a few seconds is ok, 1227.6 degrees F (IIRC) is the melting point of aluminum. The piston oilers will help cool the pistons some but over 1250 is not recommended on a regular basis. I had an Edge Evolution which made good power but with...

    IAT sensor mod?

Are you sure you're not talking about ICP sensor mod or EOT mod? I've never heard of anyone tricking the signal to the PCM from the IAT. The intake air temp sensor is installed in the side of the airbox closest to the firewall.

    warm up time...

I don't know about the 6.0s but on my 7.3L the PCM idle up only goes up to 1100 at it's coldest. This is not enough to have 300 degree EGTs. I've had to throttle it to about 1300rpms to get the EGTs where I wanted them. I don't have an AIC is another reason I don't allow it to idle. My EBPV...

According to the manufacturer your truck should start @ 20 below unassisted if I remember correctly. That's if all your GPs, GP relay and batteries are good! I plug in for 3 hours prior to departure if it's under freezing using a heavy duty timer rated for 1750 watts(don't wanna burn the...
