    reason I ask is because we have an electric golf cart that uses a pot for speed control and it does the surge at low to mid throttel.The dealer says the pot has dirty or bad spots in it.

    The UPS guy just dropped off the NEW LED headlights! These are 80w - 6500k as opposed to 60w - 5500k thats in there now .The old ones will go in the wifes grand cherokee.The new ones will be a silver-white w/ a blue cast.The old ones were really white but scattered at anything over 100'.

    Not the cover,the BOTTOM of the cast houseing.There is a round,flat spot where they used to put a drain plug.I guess it was to expensive to dril/tap a hole!They quit doing that in the late 80's.I have seen covers that have what you are talking about,but it was higher up and was at "fill level'.

    I drilled and tapped a 1/2" npt in the bottom of the center section so I dont have to pull the cover for changes.I use Amsoil Severe Gear every 50k or so.You have to do the drill and tap with the cover off so as to not contaminate the internals with chips.

    One side is done,but they are haveing trouble finding a rt side manifold.Instead of removeing the entire front clip,they remove only the plastic inners. Pretty trick lift setup too!

    UPS brought the non-exhaust valve pedistal,so I loaded all of it up and headed off to the IH dealer.I'm going back over there tomorrow to talk to the mechanic (he was on a service call).He did manage to get all the rusty,broken bolts out of the heads,so that was good news!

Tomorrow morning I'll bake them and try to get this guy assembled.I didnt blast the bearing houseing because there are so many small iol passages and it would be hard...

    In the "gut & plug thread There was a pic from a guy that filled the sensor hole with JB Weld,then put the retainer clip back on. Why not do the same with the actuater houseing & This would seal the ports without welding.

    I did look up the delete. It seems that most people just buy the pedistal that doesnt have it and if I had time thats what I'd do.A couple guys just un plug it and leave it so I guess thats my plan.

    Whats with this??

    I got the houseings apart with the aid of a little heat but when I started to spin the compressor wheel of I notice there is no hex on the exhaust turbine to hold the shaft. Th "HUB" on the wheel also runs excentricly but the wheel runs true.What is happening here?

    OK,this is the thermostat that senses oil temp and engages the flapper ? I pulled it out and it looks like it will have to stay in the pedistal.So, do I plug it back in or leave it unplugged? Also ,my 16 yr old turbo assenbly bolts are not looking too good but I cant find a fastener (bolt) kit...
