Where are the directions on straight piping?

I just cut the center out of my muffler and welded in a straight section at an angle. This way I kept all my hangers.

    Lightning protection

Pretty simple really. Some form of conductive material as high as possible, with a direct path to ground. Get one of them really long copper rods and hammer it as deep into the ground as possible, then get some of that heavy 2 guage welding cable and run it between your conductive pole...

My escape Hybrid electrical plug for 120 volts

Ohm it out. Should have a HOT, a Neutral, and a 120v ground, The fourth pic is prolly a chassis ground. Keep in mind, that plug is only rated for like 100 watts or so. We have a couple of those hybrids at work, and the label is pretty low wattage.

    7.3 Stalling in the rain?

It could be one of a few things, or even a combination. 1. CPS: Not unheard of for the CPS to fail in wet/raining conditions. We think it has something to do with either connector corrosion, or water cooling the CPS off as it hits it. Either way, the CPS is on its way out. 2. Water leak...

    IDM?

I have been trying to get someone to send me their "bad" IDM for awhile now. I've had a few offers, but still no bad IDM in the mail. If I had some bad ones, I could tear them apart like I did with the IDM MOD info above and show everyone what blows up and how to fix yourself. ASSUMING its...

    Orange Boot

Good news. PDR (piers diesel research) is now making a replacement boot for the 94-97 trucks. One of the members on my NWforddiesel site works with PDR, and had hisorange boot destroy a turbo wheel. He priced a new one at ford for a few hundred bucks, so had PDR mold one up for him...

    Fuel Pressure Gauge & Shimming

I was told to use a "snubber" to help with the readings. Something about the diesel fuel system creates too many "pulses" and the guages end up jumping all over. Is this the case with the powerstroke? Im getting ready to do the ITP diesel regulated return with an autometer cobalt electric...

    UH OH--Amsoil ATF potential concern...

The reason is, the materials used in construction of the 4R100 automatics are not compatible with the additive package that makes ATF mercon-V rated. Rebuilt 4R100's should use whatever the rebuilder tells the owner, because the incompatible materials (clutches and whatnot) may or may not...

    Hey Rich 94f450sd

hehehe, I get PMs from about once a day asking if I got booted, or who did get booted. PPL reading the IDM thread. I didnt know what was going on until I did a search on here and saw the "banned" thread yesterday. What the heck, re-re-register. Dont let em win!

    Headlight & Relay pinouts?

On the diode mod, I did it the hard way. The easy way is to use the "UNUSED" headlight socket (you only use one headlight socket when installing the upgrade harness). Break an old lightbulb, tear into it to expose the wires inside the connector, and solder the diode between the HIGH and...

    maybe a tranny issue

240?! WOW thats hot. Mine never made it over 200 when I was towing my trailer home from New Orleans. We were at 23,000lbs, and for the most part, I was at 180 in 100 degree midwest heat. Only time it got super hot, was the screw up I made going over the grand tetons with that load! I dropped...

    cat less

WA state no longer does Visual Inspections unless you fail a few times in a row. On diesels, the only thing they check for here is SMOKE. Not gas content. We are allowed 40% blockage of the light sensor. They check for smoke by making you do SNAP TESTS. Snap the throttle from idle to...

Ok, so what is this part number and how do we hook it up.

w0w, that *IS* an intercooler!! Now you just need the "hose kit" to finish your install.

Ok, so what is this part number and how do we hook it up.

94-97 trucks did not come from the factory with an intercooler. However, it is something you can ADD, but its going to be a LOT larger than what you described. It will have about 3" diameter inlet and outlet for hooking to the turbo and the intakes.

    Overdrive light flashing

To change the TC, they do not have to "get into" the tranny. They simply drop the tranny out of the truck, pull the TC out (its a slip fit), slip the new TC in, put the tranny back in the truck. Done. Now, its the DETAILS they need to follow. You MUST REPLACE the tranny cooler. You must...

    Overdrive light flashing

A filter is REQUIRED if you do a tranny rebuild. But the rear port on the tranny is the RETURN LINE from the cooler. However, you still install the filter on that line. Reason is, the old cooler may have crap in it, and you want to catch the garbage BEFORE it makes it back into your tranny pan.

    Headlight Assembly, Replacing Bulbs

Between the bumper, and the light housing, there are two screws. Once you remove theose screws, the whole light assembly comes out. It may take a little force and jiggling. Once the housing is free, you simply change the bulb. Installation is opposite of removal, but more of a pain trying to...

    Overdrive light flashing

Even tho the light is no longer flashing, there should still be some stored codes. You really really need to get them and find out what the tranny thinks is wrong. Unfortunately, our transmissions, both the E4OD (your tranny) and the 4R100 (my tranny) have some serious issues and they cant...
