    Question cold weather operation

Hi threebellz I'm just west of you at St. James. I have run Howes anti-gel in no. 2 diesel in my 7.3 and now the 06 without any issues. I know some stations sell only blended fuel but you usually have to ask to find out the percent of no. 1 they put in. Like what was said, pluging it in helps alot.

Boy do I have a deal for you. I thought mine was leaking so I bought one but it was the rear of the pan and since I was having the clutch replaced on the 01 they just siliconed up the pan and I still have the seal. I think you need a seal driver to install it tho. If you want it PM me.

hey speeder, what you know about this???

The Challenger made an overnight stop in our town this fall and tanked up with water and fuel. You could book rides in it too. We used to be a big railroad town with a turn table, repair station, and big switching yard.

    Shop/garage layout

I have a 32 by 40 shop, 10 by 10 doors, with 6 inches of concrete. It works out great for working on 2 things at a time with plenty of room for parts, benches, tool boxes, and metal and wood working tools and machines. I perfer a 2 post lift. Its easier to work on wheels, tires, axles. You don't...

    Diesel leak!!

My guess would be the fuel filter drain valve. Is it leaking from the right front side of the engine. The o-rings tend to leak when it gets cold out and will drip out the hose from the filter drain.

    Straight piped

I took mine to the dealer for the mileage issue and they hooked it up to their scan tool and went out for a test ride and got 14.1 at a steady 65mph. When I average out a tank its usually 11.5-13. Now that I've started using Jodys tunes I have almost hit 10 towing but really haven't had much...

    Straight piped

I left the back pressure sensor unpluged and had more boost while pulling and did pick up about 1 mpg but it didn't seem right so I pluged it back in. I got an economy and a couple of towing tunes from Jody at DP tuner and put my cat back on cuz he said I would get better mileage with it on. On...

    Question 4 Inch downpipe

My son stopped by Heartthrob's shop this week to check out some exhaust for his truck and asked about their exhaust for diesels. They said the 4" dp is worth some power even useing the stock cat if you make the section on it that necks down to 3 inches 3 1/2". He said that mod works good even...

    EBP sensor

You could put a dongle where the sensor was. SP Diesel has them and call them exhaust back pressure eliminators. I had one on my 7.3 but can't remember who's it was. Might try to find one from a sponsor on this site.

    Question Which brand of Winch???

The Summit winch is the same as T-max brand winch and cheaper. Its a good winch but has weak solenoids. Once I replaced them with solid state ones I've had no problems. I think the new winches come with the improved solenoids.

    Question Edge Insight comments?

I have one on my truck and it works fine. There are alot of different ones out that do the same thing so it just basically up to you to pick the one you like. It is nice to be able to read all the sensors that are on the truck plus you can add more and still read them on the monitor. Plus the...

    Ebpv

They might have. They did show me a printout of the mileage (14.1) after they took it on a 20 mile test drive. Thats better that I've ever got but it was all highway with no stop and go.

    Ebpv

Took my truck to the dealership to have them replace the speed sensor in the rear end and told them about the ebpv deal and poor mileage. Now my exhaust doesn't hiss or woooosh anymore and they said they didn't find anything wrong or fix it. Funny that it fixed itself after doing it for over a...

    302 (5.0) help

The engine guy I know recommends zero decking the block, milling the heads as much as possible, useing the smallest dished piston you can find, and .030 head gasket. He's a big believer in small port heads so like whats been said 289 heads would work. When you figure out what you are useing he...

    My new Wheels and Tires

You can put a chaulk line across the face of the tire then see if it wears off evenly to check tire pressure too. I have been down to 35 in the rear and 45 in the front but mileage will suffer compared to 50-60lbs. When I pull the trailer I go 70 in the rear and 65 front.
