And you think you seen it all.....LOL

In Redwood Fall, Mn. at the inventors congress around 1973 I saw full size Olds, Pontiacs, and Buicks pulling around full size campers. Wonder if they are the same. Never saw any on the road. They looked like they just clamped to the drip rail.

    Found my cold limit

Yesterday morning it was -10 and the 6.0 failed to start. It would fire but when I let off the started it died. I tried 5-6 times gave up and pluged it in and hooked up the battery charger. One hour later it fired right up. My 01 would light up down to -20. It has started at 0 before so i'm not...

    Driving & Towing 5th wheel

Mount a camera under your truck aimed at the rear end u-joint. You will be surprised at how much your pinion angle changes under a load. You could be gitting a bind under load. You can fix it by putting on bars like truck pullers use but with a new truck it really shouldn't happen.

    Drive Shaft question?

Did you get longer drive shafts with the lift? You might be over extended on your slip joint and its barely engaged and splines are worn.

2005 6.0 diesel wont stay running

I know of several trucks that started up last year on cold mornings and never made it 5 miles before gelling up. It might not be your problem but if you weren't running blended fuel or an antigell additive give them a chance with a new set of filters.

2005 6.0 diesel wont stay running

I use Howe's anti-gell in my diesels and haven't had gelling issues. You can find it and Power service at truck stops most anywhere. I carry the 911 with me in the winter too. If your truck starts to feel slugish in real cold weather you can stop and dump some in right away instead of being dead...

2005 6.0 diesel wont stay running

You said it was in the teens for temps. If it was low teens and you had a summer blend of fuel or bad fuel you could of been having a gelling problem. Do you run any kind of additive?

    200,000 mile ESP?

I have a 7 year 200k on my 06. Extended by Ford for the month and a day that it sat in a dealership shop waiting to figure out a no start. I'll be lucky to have 80k on it by then. Just covers the motor. We had the ESP on our Five-Hundred and got it for just about half of what our dealer wanted...

Wanting to buy a (stick) welder but have no clue what size I need

Wire feed is the way to go unless you are doing dirty or rusty metals then an old buzz box is better. Like whats been said a wire feed is easy to use. Try looking for a good used one, and get a good welding helmet too.

Question Dana 60 High pinion (reverse) or regular?

I've had a couple of older trucks that had front and back ratio's off by .01 or .02 and they would bind up so bad it would take a few trys going forward and back pulling on the lever to get it out of gear and when it came out it was with a bang. I would think .07 is too much difference for most...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Took the summer wheels and tires off and put stockers back on. Put topper on for added weight in rear (won't be pull'n goosenecks on winter roads). Just in time, first snow forcast for tomorrow.

    Winter cover

Fia winter front. Has that quilted look and comes with a bug screen too. Never had a problem with overheating even when it warmed up and I forgot to open the vents on it. Truck does warm up faster with it on and when busting drifts it keeps snow out of radiator and air intake.

Fall and Winter is on the way.

We have had a killing frost already. I don't like the cold weather thats going to be coming but am glad that the geese will be moving on. They crap all over our camping area at the lake and eat the beans and corn down there. You can legally shoot up to 8 or 10 of them that are doing crop damage...

    Sticking brake

Well I first flushed the boost system and it seemed to help but I put a caliper on it today cuz the right rear still ran a few degrees warmer than the left. For 55 bucks it beats sitting smoldering by the road side and hopefully its cured. Thanks for the help
